Strong opinions on war, economy, persecution ...

The Long Road to Here by Ernest Sittenfeld

The Naples Daily News is kind enough to let me have a blog space to explain to the world why I am the person who can solve all the world’s problems – if people will only listen to me. Yes, me and ten million other guys.

Well, I do expect to write on a variety of subjects, but I will try in general to relate my writing to “The Long Road to Here.” I think I should explain that phrase as it relates to my life.

I have lived in Naples since 1988, an eternity by local standards. Before that I lived in the New York City area, meaning Manhattan, Westchester County and, finally, Fairfield County in Connecticut. Before that I lived in Bolivia, and before that, in Germany. So, it really has been a long road to here.

Being an immigrant, I obviously have strong views on immigration, but not always what you might expect. Being a child of the Holocaust, I obviously have strong views on persecution, torture and war.

Being a businessman, I have opinions about the dollars and cents subjects which concern us all, especially in these difficult times.

And, finally, have I got stories for you!

So, let this be an introduction to my blog, and I sure would like to have readers’ comments and questions.

See you next time.
