Golden Gate Democrat Maria Jimenez appears to have won the vote to move on to the November election, but final results were still being tallied Tuesday night.
Jiminez was winning in both Collier and Broward counties over Pembroke Pines Democrat Samuel D. Lopez in the primary in House District 101.
Jimenez, director of charter schools for Redlands Christian Migrant Association and a longtime educator, would go on to face incumbent Matt Hudson, R-Golden Gate, in the general election Nov. 4.
District 101 encompasses eastern Collier and western Broward counties.
