What is green and orange and about to be recycled all over?

Think Green Every Day

Open up your refrigerator and you might see a carton of Tropicana Orange Juice. Made from layers of paper and polymers, the container was specially designed to keep all of the nutrients in... but unfortunately made the carton un-recyclable.

Until now.

In partnership with Tropicana, Waste Management has developed a process by which the beverage cartons can be properly recycled. In a process known as hydropulping, Waste Management separates the layers of the cartons, enabling the paper to be recycled.

With the partnership originating at Tropicana's Central Florida location, Waste Management customers in that region have been the first to benefit from this recycling break-through. A growing number of communities are also in the process of adopting this practice to foster a green life cycle for their beverage cartons.
