The Irish American Club of Naples was formed with the goal of fostering the promotion and preservation of Irish Culture, History, Music and Dance as well as the contribution the Irish have made to their adopted country. The purpose of this group is to keep dialogue going and information available concerning the Irish American Club of Naples. All Irish born, Irish descendants, Irish by marriage, and anyone else who loves Ireland's music, dance and history are welcome. This is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization. Mike Joynt was one of the people who helped form the Irish American Club of Naples in 1989 and was the the first president of the organization. He was involved with the first group that started the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Naples and has contributed many floats for that parade, one float being the large Celtic Cross that has been in the parade every year accompanied by St. Patrick himself.
