Dodged the Storm Fishing Full Steam Ahead.
Posted August 31, 2006
Fished the Monday before Ernesto and found some great Snook And tailing Reds on the Flats around Marco. We had a great morning on Fly, catching some nice Snook and a couple of 24 inch Reds. We had the shot at completing the Slam, but the Tarpon were feeling the wind and wouldn't look at the flies. The rest of the week has been pretty much a blow out. The fishing gets tough when you have a South West wind. The first day back will be Friday, which looks like it should be good. The weekend will probably be good also although I am not sure Bait fishing is going to be easy. Bait will probably be hard to find so dust off those plugs and start casting shorelines for your Snook dinner. Good Luck for the opening of the season and remmember the new rules are in affect.
