Fished for the last couple of afternoons around Marco and it has been great, the Snook under the lights in Marco, Cax, and Capri have been large and willing to eat flies with reckless abandon. I have been going out about 5:30 pm fishing for reds on the falling tide and then after dark setting my sites on Snook. This combination has been paying off well. Look for the reds in any of the bays close to Passes or just outside of the fast water in the passes from Naples to Marco. The Snook have been everywhere along with the reds and then under the lights at night. Results on the CCA Tournament this weekend out of Goodland; a record 21 Boats entered the event with the top prizes for Biggest red and most weight for two live redfish went the Metzger Team. Coming in a close second was the Wright Taylor team and following in a not to distant third was yours truly, I was fishing with a close friend Ritch Aldacosta. Most everyone in the tourney caught lots of fish, but sometimes it is difficult with the slot limit to get the right two fat ones. If you want to enter the tourney, it is on the 1st Sunday of every month at Calusa Marina in Goodland. Take off is at 7:00 am and you can sign up before the tournament. You must be a CCA Member which you can join at the entry. Well I hope everyone gets out and good luck. Roan z.
