Everything is perking up. Warmer water equals Great Fishing!
Posted March 13, 2007
Fished Fly and Bait yesterday. Fly in the morning which was very good. It started a little slow we fished around Marco River but could not get the Tarpon and Snook to bite. Then we moved to a Tarpon spot and put a small thirty pounder in the air. The water was a little dingy so we took off and caught some nice Snook and a beautiful Redfish to finish out the morning. On the way in I stiopped along Keeywaydin Island to see how many Snook were their and found quite a few swimming along. THe afternoon was good also. I netted some bait and we headed out for the mangrove shorelines with a group of three from NewYork. After we were done they each boated some nice Snook and a couple of Redfish, along with a host of other species. Not bad for a group that has never seen a Mangrove before now. Fishing should continue to get better as we head into Spring. Large Snook and Tarpon will be on everyone's plate as long as there is no more cold fronts to set things back. Thanks Rz.
