This week was a tough one, the fish didn't feel the wind but our poor clients did. The good news was the fish made up for the conditions. The Naples and Marco backcountry was giving up good numbers of Snook and Redfish along with some nice Tarpon on the beaches and in the passes. Most of the week we were lucky a North East Wind, and even though it was blowing from 20 to 30 it is still fishable. We even put a hurting on Snook on Sunday evening. Gordon Pass was on fire with Snook and Tarpon late in the evening and my fly anglers put a hurting on them. It just came together perfectly, Tide and Wind worked in conjunction and the fish were blowing up everywhere in Gordons Pass. The night fishing was just as good nice Snook and a small Tarpon rounded out the night in the Naples lights.
This week it is not as nice as the end of last week. Winds shifted to the South which makes the fishing much much more difficult. I usually say if it blows South West stay at home fishing will be difficult at best. Tuesday and Wednesday has shown it true. Bait was very difficult to find and the fish were not reacting well. Oh, did I tell you the last couple days I left the outercoast and fished the canals for bass and it saved the day for me. Bass were feeding well in the Golden Gate Canal system. The rest of the week it will be scketchy though with a front on the back side of IDA. Weather will turn beautiful but will probably reduce our fishing success for a couple days. Well it will be nice out so get out and have fun. Good Casting Roan z.
