I came across the Learning Express Toy Store. It is different that the big box stores. David and Christine Lapidus have owned the store in Ft. Myers for 9 years and have one in Naples they have owned for 8 years. Where have I been?
You get personal attention from the staff and Vikki will personalize almost anything you want your child's name on. There were many things to choose from to have personalized and they were all so cute! Good job Vikki!
There were all kinds of craft kits to keep those little fingers busy, a Ruggedy Rug Crochet Kit that makes a 36" round rug. Or Super Knot a Quilt, no sewing, made of super soft fleece, makes the cutest quilt! They are always so proud to say "Look what I made!"
Lots of art supplies from triangular crayons, ever see any of those? To large art kits. How about pop bead critters complete with a book...remember those pop beads when you were a kid? To be real creative there were foam pieces with a book, that would keep them busy for a while.
I liked the window art, you create it and peel it off for window decorating. There were stuffed animals that were color by number...cleaver. You never know what color dog you are going to see!
Rub-a-Dub Fashions in a tub! A 31 piece set that sticks to the tub or wall and they float. Two dolls and all the clothes, $9.99.
To be a kid again and have a twilight turtle or lady bug, a constellation night light. Transfers your room into a starry night sky. How cool is that!
There was a whole rack of small toys that would be great stocking stuffers with prices of $.99 to $1.99.
The rack of books were interesting, there were dot to dot, color by number, find the magic picture for ages 3 and up, $1.99 to $3.49.
All Thomas the Train was 20 percent off. They also carry Playmobile, Lego, Lincoln Logs and other building kits. There were a lot of castles and pirate things.
For the older ones there were books on face painting and nail art, paper fashions, they become a little designer and design their own styles. Very creative. Shrink art jewelry, and for the boys a GIANT 3-D book of bugs!! Eeeee!
Vikki wanted me to tell you they carry Webkinz, pets that you care for and answer trivia and play great games on the net. And the new Plasma Car, I think you have to be three to work the pedals! You ride on it, one of the girls tried to demonstrate for me but said small kids can really make it go!!
They do birthday parties. Give free gift wrap AND no standing in line at the post office as UPS stops there every day so they will send those parcels on for you!! What a boon for Grandparents!!
