The day I went, I was the only one in the stores. There are some lovely stores here.

I went into Evelyn & Arthur and visited with the manager, Sandra King. A very nice lady, pleasant and helpful. She told me Evelyn & Arthur started 28 years ago in Palm Beach and Arthur, who is 79 years young, is still running the stores! Here you will find fine resort collections for travel and leisure. Their collections are designed to fit the 40 and older woman, geared to the more mature body with young, fun styles. The clothing is very comfortable in easy care fabrics making it perfect for travel.

Evelyn & Arthur are known for their sweater sets and have them to go with almost every collection. Now you think with our weather who needs a sweater set? But, if you are traveling you probably will need one in the evening. They manufacture 70 percent of their own label.

Sandra said anything red, white or blue is popular this year and stripes , lots of stripes, in all colors.

They are the only ones in this area who carry Eric Javits bags and hats. Starting at $200 and going up into $300.

The well fitted slacks start just under $100. You only need a couple pairs of these and you can wear them with everything.

There were lots of sales going on, some up to 75 percent off.

These are clothes you would wear every day so get on down to Evelyn & Arthur and discover the most fashionable corner in The Promenade!
