Chunky sweaters and full skirts ... have left the building
Posted November 6, 2007
Now fine gauge cowl sweaters and trumpet skirts are the thing to be seen in.
Get ready for fall trends, layer on the style!! It's a cinch...BELTS can give your figure a flattering new profile---wear with a dress, a sweater or even a coat! The big thing for fall are crop jackets. They are everywhere but I found a good selection at Saks Off 5th Ave.Outlet where prices are 40-70% off everyday retail.
I saw a darling go-with-everything crop jacket in black for $99. that had been $174. A 100% cotton white jacket with pockets and baby doll sleeves for $59.99. A knitted sweater-like crop at $79.99. There were very short black velvet jackets, and a fresh take on tweeds. Knit dresses just to the knee were $59.99 and $69.99. There were long sweaters to be worn with leggings or skinny jeans. All that glitters! Mix it up! There is a lot of glitz...wear those sparkly tops of sequins or stones with jeans, oh so chic!! Jumpers with blouses are making a come back too. There were quite a few to choose from. Another return are the colored denim jeans and painted jeans, I saw some that were painted silver at $99. Top them with a satin baby doll top or a shimmer sweater and you are ready to go!
Give basics a boost with accessories, splashes of color with a smart scarf. You can find them in almost every color and they add elegance draped around your shoulders or tied around your neck.
The classic look of cashmere is always in and Saks had quite an array of sweaters. I liked the one that looked like a cape, one size fits all. Wear them with a straight leg pant.
Say hello to patterns and textures. Be well suited in tweed. I saw a houndstooth collection with a short jacket over wide leg pants or a short skirt that was knee length.
Purses you could live in, well, almost! I guess big is better because they certainly had quite a selection of big purses in all colors. There was a large variety of styles. I loved the evening bags, lots of rhinestones! A small pouch was $239.99. All designer and top quality.
In the shoe department I called them, not my grandma's shoes!! They were high heels that laced up above your ankles! Somebody's gotta love 'em! Booties were big and of course the ballerinas are b-a-c-k! All colors only 20 bucks!
They carry high end jewelry in 18K by Seiden Gang, Charriol, and Damiani which is the highest end made by a family in Italy that's called Jewelry to the Stars. Also a lot of fun costume jewelry.
See It! Want It! Buy It!! Have fun!
Saks Off 5th Outlet is in the Miromar Mall 10801 Corkscrew Road in Estero. Just across from Starbucks...Yummmm!
