ONE OF A KIND FIND ... BY OWNER!
FOR THE ARTFUL WOMAN!
You would think of all the stores I go into, after a while they all would begin to look alike ... sometimes they do with the usual assortment of clothing, jewelry and gift items.
BUT if you look hard enough you always find something different and unique hidden away in each one.
Today I am in TRADER RICK'S and found the owner, yes his name is really Rick, makes his own custom jewelry. He uses Bali silver and silver beads, hand blown beads and puts together one of a kind creations in necklaces, bracelets, earrings and anklets.
He puts a lot of time and thought into each piece and they are spectacular, starting at $89.95. He takes orders for his creations. There is a good selection of jewelry other than Rick's. Teresa Goodall's necklaces of beads and ribbons can be found.
This is a store with a little of this and a little of that. They carry Barbara Lesser and Tianello it is washable, very soft, good for travel and new for fall. I saw a denim outfit that was trimmed with lace and appliqués with a scarf hem on the skirt at $124.95, the matching jacket is $138.95, different! And a colorful collection of casual wear. Their theme is "The most important thing about our clothes is the woman who wears them!" How cool is that?
There were beautifully detailed purses by Mary Francis and Vegan purses by Matt and Nat from Montreal, that's right, no leather in these purses! Also found Avalin sweaters in long and short sleeves that are 100% cotton at $36.95. They carry these all year round.
Don't forget to look at the colorful selection of parasols!
Trader Rick's has some very pretty gift items too! Silver angels form small to large. Salad servers with shells on the handles as well as spreaders, and napkin sets. Good hostess gifts! I loved the silver turtle salt and pepper sets $19.95 or turtle spreaders $14.95 for two and the white ceramic dishes, three connected together with silver turtle heads $29.95. These would make great gifts from Florida!
For something a little different I saw handmade soaps, tea forte' on Oprah's list, Kindred bed and body dust.
Another favorite with me was the pewter sets of measuring spoons and cups complete with a little rack to display them on. The jeweled boxes of crabs, fish, or alligators will really catch your eye.
Sharon was very helpful and gave me a tour of the store. It is chuck full of interesting things to look at and to BUY!!! So go in and pick up some of these treasured gifts for you or someone special!
Trader Rick's is located in the Bell Tower Shops, 13499 Cleveland Ave. #217 in Ft. Myers. Phone 239-489-2240. Or if you feel like an island girl you can take a ride to Sanibel Island where you will find another location at 2075 Periwinkle Way #38
