A gift shop,
With Island Style.

I'm back on Sanibel again, this is a gift shop chuck full of all kinds of fun, interesting things called Island Style. You can find frivolous, funny, unusual, hard to find, beautiful or cutesy gifts of all kinds in here. Did you ever see "Bad Girl Placemats" ? Neither did I but they have them. They say, "Mornings wouldn't suck so bad if they came later in the day!" or "Nothing gets me in the mood like a man doing the dishes". They are laminated. Fun-ney!
There are really pretty pebble glass dishes in all colors. The beach glass sun catchers are a great souvenir to take home or to send to friends up North. How about hand painted bowls, plates or candle holders, all in tropical themes. I loved the small glass vases that hang on the wall and hold a small arrangement or a single flower. Each has a different color design on it, $30. All keeping with the tropical theme is the hand painted furniture. Also there is a great selection of colorful pottery pieces in all sizes.
The story people prints were unusual. Colorful Stick drawings with a story, suitable for framing, $38. For all occasions, find some really funny cards.
Screen bugs, these are the only kind of bugs that I'd want around. They are jeweled and have long wire legs that attach to the screen on the pool cage, really cute! Large $12. Small $10. A real conversation piece.
Great for a hostess gift were lovely hand blown wine stoppers. There is plenty to look at in this shop. You climb up the hand painted stairs to the second floor for even more to look at! Just to be different were hand painted tiles with house numbers on them. I loved the frosted, painted glass votives decorated with beads and wire, $34. I bet you don't have one of these, a wine time clock at $64.
The picture frames with shutters came in all the soft tropical colors, just $24. There were all kinds of little flower holders, I'm a sucker for these! And napkin holders and towel holders of all sorts.
Want something really different? The hand painted head board said across the top, "Follow your heart to an island" How divine!
Stunning sea glass candle sticks were a treasure to behold at $175 a set. But the most outstanding thing I found were the colorful blown glass chandeliers by V. Levenc. They looked like a Dale Chihuly inspired design but much more reasonable at $3000. So beautiful!
This shop is full of great little gift ideas. A fun place to visit. Find one-of-a-kind island treasures!
