College bound?
Here's a little help from your friend.

I am always looking for something new to write about and thought why not do an article on what to buy when heading off to college. Leaving home for the first time is hard to do, well for the mom's you leave behind for sure! But if you jazz up that dorm room it can be a cozy little place where you will spend a lot of time.
So I headed off to Target to see what I could find that may help you with your shopping list. The first thing on my list is a very colorful foot locker in several colors at $60. You can store a lot of things in here and it's strong enough for extra seating. I found everything is in fun, bright colors in funky prints that can be mixed and matched for a not-so-boring room. Twin sheet sets were $9.49, or more vibrant colors at $13. a set. Bright colored micro fleece blankets for those cool nights only $17. Bed pillows $10. Bold print and stripe comforters, $25, matching shams $10. There are also comforters in a bag with everything you need for your bed at $60. For a more stylish set, they are offered in simply fab prints at $80. Jazz it up with a couple of toss pillows starting at $10. You can pick up a room size rug in all sorts of geometric designs or fun colors for $80. These would probably cover your whole dorm floor. If you want one that's not so big I found a nice selection of throw rugs in various sizes starting at $30.
Woven baskets for great storage in a dark brown color with open handles at each end for easy handling, $25. Also find the milk crate storage boxes, large ones that looked like leather $18. or the natural color woven milk crates only $12.
The fluffy, thirsty Fieldcrest luxury towels were $10. hand towel $8.29, wash cloth $7.29 all on sale. Hey! You are worth it, spring for the best, besides you don't need a whole closet full! They are available in wonderful bright colors. They had other towels that were less expensive, $5. $4.50 and $3.50. I'd go for the Fieldcrest!
There is a nice selection of shower curtains that you can co-ordinate with things in your main room starting at $17. Bath rug $5. tooth brush holders, and soap dishes all to match from $10 - $13.
If you want to make your room really homey find colorful picture frames in shiny enamel, filled candles in all colors, and a must so you don't miss class, a clock starting at $10. or go for a digital at $20.
You need a door mirror to make sure you look cool when going to class, just $6. Then come the essentials, 5 cup coffee pot by Black & Decker $26. or Mr. Coffee 4 cup $19. A small microwave for late night pop corn, $40. Lots of colorful plastic dish ware, $2. That should cover most of the things you will need to fix up your dorm.
There were aisles of school supplies, note books, journals etc. and back packs starting at $10.
As you know there are Target Stores everywhere and most have the same selection so find one close to you, take your Mom, it will be fun shopping and she'll probably pay for everything!
Off you go! Have a great year in college!
