Finding bargains...
At Big Lots.

I was on my way to the beach this week and stopped in Big Lots to see what was new. I was surprised to find a whole collection by Jennifer Farrell. Quite nice. There were decorative wood boxes, colored candle holders and pretty painted vases. I liked her whole collection which was quite extensive, bamboo bowls, painted plates, place mats made of wood and fabric. Great dishes in black, orange and green also candle holders to match. All decorative things for your home, votive holders, reed diffuser gift sets and oil burners all could be found as soon as you come in the front door.
This is another one of those stores that has quite a hodge podge of items. I don't mean that in a bad way, there is just a little of everything from calendars, cards, scrap book stuff. Things for your hair, cosmetics, readers and sunglasses.
Garden things, 2 cubic feet of potting soil for $8. pots of all sorts, garden hoses.
Small appliances and vacuums. With hurricane season upon us I found a couple sizes of generators starting at $169. flashlights, batteries and candles.
A baby department with car seats, strollers, high chairs to huggies and clothes for the new addition.
For your home find a drapery department and hardware at discounted prices. Bamboo roll up blinds, toss pillows, rugs, bath and bedroom supplies. Table runners for $6. and $7. as well as a selection of place mats. Dish sets as low as $15. flat wear, skillets and cooking supplies, spice racks, the whole range for your home.
This is a store with school supplies. Automotive department with tools, floor mats for your car, waxes and polishes.
A paint department with everything you need to spruce up those walls. Paint was $7. a gallon.
Don't forget the pets, there was a whole wall of pet supplies.
A couple rows of plastics in every shape and form, cleaning supplies and laundry supplies. Shelf lining even food supplies at reduced rates.
There were lots of things for your lanai, 5 piece patio set with padded chairs, $250. Market umbrellas $50. A smaller set with sling chairs just $240. A 10 x 12 bay window gazebo, $300. Wicker outdoor furniture, love seat $128. Rocker $90. and chairs $84. Tiki torches to light up your night, $6. To store everything, a big deck box for $60.
A lot of fun items for the pool from toys to loungers.
In the electronics department I found a 40" flat screen TV at $600.
Attached to this store was the Big Lots Furniture store. It was jammed with all kinds of furnishings for your home all at reasonable prices. I didn't wander through there but did spot an awesome zebra print big square ottoman from the window!
So tighten the belt and save some bucks at Big Lot!
