Art in the Treetops!

The savvy shopper hits Sanibel. Art in the Treetops is a very diversified gallery with many options of art in many forms by a variety of talented artists. The fused glass plates with colorful designs would be a great gift from $22.-40. There were art objects big and small from glass ornaments to ceramic fan pulls. The painted cigar boxes caught my eye by Brian Kirkpatrick, he loves to paint fish on top of them in a range of $85.-100. The fused glass by Toni Org was outstanding, $60.-300. It is decorative glass in stands for a wonderful display. There were interesting clocks also in fused glass.
I was really intrigued by the aboriginal dots. Tiny individual enameled dots painted on gourds of all sizes in a multitude of color. It takes about 250 hours to paint the designs on each piece by Fran Jaffe, priced from $200. - 1800. Truly a work of art!
The handcrafted clay sculptures were interesting with colorful paints, I liked the one called The Five Sisters. $2300.
Silk scarves hand painted, some with a touch of gold don't stay around long. They come in a rainbow of rich colors and are very reasonable from $38. The Sanibel glass earrings at $18. makes a terrific gift or a great reminder of your trip to the island.
It is an art gallery and there is some awesome art to be had. Well known, Leoma Lovegrove has some of her art featured from a small painting to one that would take up much of a wall. Her art work is very colorful, she has her own style.
You will find Sanibel paintings by Nancy Wilson that feel like you can step right into them. There are cartoon originals. Wildlife by various artists. Something different was the self adhesive vinyl on acrylic. Art work by John Kelty. There is contemporary art and whimsical colorful art. It is a fun gallery to browse with such a variety of works.
I found beautiful pottery, a display case of birds that look so real. Cards, unusual jewelry, painted coconuts and for a little fun, a cake tester with a little ceramic and wire design on top, just $10.
