The Savvy Shopper

Jeanne Vogt

Everybody loves a sale and the Mole Hole is having a big one! Everything in the store is at least 20% off with many items at 50% off, and some items are marked as low as 70% off.
Jim Gottschalk, the owner told me he would rather sell it than move it. He is closing the very large store, 9000 square feet and moving into a smaller location of 2700 square feet. He will stay in the Bell Tower but moving between Crew and Ulta. He is also closing his store in Bonita at the Promenade so is having the same great sale. That store will also be moving from that location into a smaller place in the Promenade.
His pieces of art glass are spectacular! I wouldn't know where else to find some of the pieces he carries and of course it is all on sale! Jim said he will carry some art glass in the new stores but not the $5000. pieces.
The Mole Hole has always been a great place to browse for gifts and decorative accessories. You never know what you will find, always something different. There were fabulous raku pieces. A beautiful selection of Swarovski Austrian crystal fills several cases. The stunning pieces of under sea life of fish or turtles with coral all in glistening crystal were a delight.
There was a large choice of acrylic glasses, from wine to tall tumblers and everything in between with a rainbow of colors in the bottom of each. Much needed for around the pool.
Of course many whimsical pieces. Dust Paws, work gloves with painted fingernails and rings with colored yarn dusters attached to the under side,,,fun way to clean! You know I love the tea towels with the printed sayings like "What was the best thing before sliced bread?" among other zany sayings. The cocktail napkins were a hoot. There are colored gazing balls the size of grapefruit to hang in you window to brighten your day. Cute ceramic plaques with cleaver sayings. This one is great for our hard times now, "In trying times don't quit trying!" How true is that. The purse holders were really zany, they had different buttons that snapped into place that said, Call me, Yes!, Single or Buy me a drink! They hook on a table when you are at a restaurant or bar to hang your purse on. How about a mouse rug or coaster rugs that look like tiny little oriental rugs!
Another find that was unusual were the hand painted candles in vivid tribal designs. Tons of the tiny villages that you see at Christmas. For a great gift, sea glass earrings. I loved the cases of tree frogs in all different colors and poses.
There is just tons of things to choose from jewelry, figures, paintings, Lladro' ,Gund stuffed animals and clocks to pill boxes. So check it out and scoop up some of the bargains!
