This blog seeks to rediscover the roots of our country thereby finding solutions to today’s problems from experiences WE as a nation encountered and endured while still young. These editorials seek to be upbeat, forward looking vs. partisan in nature or inflammatory. The blog looks to focus people’s attention towards solutions vs. a bent on self-destructive tirades from a particular corner in the ring. We must find common ground and work together towards a common good. All of this is grounded in lessons drawn from our history. Oftentimes we need to look retrospectively to understand what we need to do today and tomorrow. It is not the past dictating any particular future but rather providing wisdom and insight in troubling times. Scott Hopkins can be contacted: sghopkin@samford.edu
