Last few Tuesday Media Day jottings ...
-- Sounds like Cardinals DT Darnell Dockett, WR Anquan Boldin and Steelers RB Bryant McFadden are still buddies from their days at FSU.
"As a matter of fact, (me and Dockett) were chilling a little bit yesterday when they got in," said McFadden, who played high school football in Hollywood, Fla. "We were all pretty much together at Florida State before they left early. We all have a close relationship."
Yes, Seminole blood runs thick.
-- Larry Fitzgerald shouldn't mind the media, at least too much, because his dad is one of us. Larry Fitzgerald, Sr., is the longtime editor of the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder, a weekly African American paper. Fitzgerald Senior has covered the Super Bowl every year since 1981 -- not a bad gig, but I don't think he'd have a problem getting tickets this year.
"I lived the dream as a child being around some of my heroes," Fitzgerald (the football player, not the sportswriter, said. "I remember being at Vikings' training camp and watching Cris Carter and Randy Moss and Jake Reed and saying this would be a dream come true to be an NFL player."
"I didn't do a lot of the things other kids in my neighborhood were doing just because my dad gave me the opportunity to see what NFL players were doing and the sacrifices they had to make."
Hope to see you all here again tomorrow for more from the Steelers, Cardinals and possibly Kids Day at the NFL Experience.
