I really found it difficult to find a computer at which I could spend enough time at due to the number of Mayors, Vice Mayors, City Clerks, City Managers, City Commissioners, and City Council Members that were clamoring to use the limited number of computers. And my typing skills do not make it any easier. But here goes for what we were doing in Orlando for the annual League of Cities Conference beginning Thursday, Aug. 13 until Sunday, Aug. 16.

8:30am – 11:30pm Pre Conference Seminar with role playing – Subject was Problem-Solving through Deliberate Democracy. Interesting introduction of how to hold a meaningful forum with constituents
1:30pm - 3:30pm Legislative Policy Committee Meetings
3:30pm – 5:00pm Exhibit Hall with many vendors with many different products. Brought back many ideas for staff to peruse.
6pm – 7pm Presidents Welcome Reception
8am to 9am Water Management District – Friend or Foe Conference.
9:15am-10:45am Opening General Session.
45 minute Break with Round Table Discussions
11:30am-3pm Grants and Technical Assistance. Brought back numerous disks from FEMA and ideas on FEMA grants, Florida League of Cities Assistance and Federal Grants Catalogs
3-4pm Back to the Exhibit Hall. More ideas to peruse
4-5pm 30 or More Ways to Reduce Your City’s Expenses. Interesting cost cutting ideas
9 – 10 am Business Session
10:15 – 12:15 Second General Session
12:30 - 2:14pm Past Presidents Luncheon
