Blogs › Weather For Everyone
My First Blog
Posted October 17, 2007
Well friends,...this is the first blog I've done in my life, and I must admit, I am a bit hesitant, but excited as well.
We debuted our interactive weather segment at naplesnews.com Monday morning, and the reaction, honestly, has been overwhelming.
I personally received over 100 e-mails to my new e-mail address, JTSyoen@naplesnews.com, within the first 28 hours. That doesn't include e-mail I received at home, and many additional responses the newspaper has received as well.
It's great to know we hit the ground running. There have been numerous people working on this project for a while, and I can tell you we are all very happy with the early returns.
We have had a few minor technical glitches, but continue to iron those out, and we expect this segment to grow and improve quickly.
I would like to re-emphasize the INTERACTIVE format we are executing. The grand plan is for this to be a creative and informative daily weathercast, that reflects Southwest Florida.
Most people move to Florida because of the weather, it is a huge part of our lifestyle, and we really want the viewers to be included in what we do.
For instance, we'd really like to include your weather photos. It could be a funnel cloud, a rainbow, or better yet, your family enjoying some activity that the weather was just perfect for. Do you have a favorite weather-related website you'd like us to link to?
If there is an upcoming event that requires specific weather information, please let us know. Most importantly, we HIGHLY encourage your feedback.
A quick thanks again to all the creative people who have been working on this project. I do promise that the upcoming blogs will be a bit more fun and less self-serving, but please SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT INTERACTIVE WEATHER!
