I hate the idea of government spending all that is in their budget so they get the same amount next year plus whatever increases. That is a great way to go bankrupt when you have a bad year, but I guess its always been that way. Intriguing idea here, just not sure if its the right one but its a start. What happens to the money that is saved if we are under budget? Honestly, government should spend only what is absolutely needed, and be able to save up to certain amount for "rainy days" or emergencies. Eventually year after year you can take a look at taxes and see if they need to be raised or lowered, but this free spending is crazy. I know this happens every September when the military comes calling with open checkbooks. Its great for business, but I often wonder why we (as a country) set ourselves up for this and if they really use everything we sell them.
