Well, a spring training site like this would bring more people to the area while a museum or arts facility will not. It would be a better investment and many cities have additional taxes, such as those in Atlanta and Phoenix on rental cars. Such a move by the cubs might also help Naples airport get a carrier such as American Airlines or another major carrier from the midwest to help that airport out. I also feel that approaching someone like USA baseball to use the facility during the summer for practices, training, and such would be a good idea. If it won't happen here in Collier, I don't know why Lee County isn't looking for some deal like that with the new stadium they are building the red sox.
