In this age of political correctness people are less inclined to openly display their true Christmas spirit. Local governments won't get involved in Christmas celebrations because the ACLU will drag them into court over the separation of church and state. What is left for communities who want to celebrate the season? What options are there? A lot of people think the decorating contest is a fun way to celebrate the season; others find it tacky. But this is not my point. This is a nice Marco Island story and during this time of year when people are at their happiest and hold great hope for the future there are posts that deflate the spirit of the season.
It's Christmas in America; people are free to celebrate Christmas as they wish. Their celebrations should not be open to criticism.
