I have been reading all this craziness before we moved to Marco. I have 2 children in school and one of them going to Lely,one going to TBE. I was nervous about putting our child into Lely, but we really had no choice. She is doing very well and the diversity is quite a change for her. She likes her school so far. But, what I see happening here is a community fighting over our children. I see it as there is a elementary and a middle school, why not a high school. Our children are our future not the eagles or the old. They have their places. And as far as someone saying this is a retirement community, wrong, when we moved here we were worried about that, we have so many children here growing and thriving in our community, to let them hear all this is pitiful. All I see and hear is selfish greed for those that find themselves really believing they are all rightous about preserving the island, get real. The kids are here and so are the schools, I wonder if the elementary and middle schools had to fight this hard. It's not about which high school would be better it's about our community and I've seen smaller towns and areas with schools K-12. Justsaying...
