There seem to be comments and opinions that Tract K is an option for a school. That is NOT a given. The Collier County School Board owns Tract K and does not have to do anything with it for some time to come. In fact, I do not know if they ever have to do anything with Tract K. It is a valuable asset to all the Taxpayers in Collier County. Twenty years from now it may be worth a lot of money and if declared surplus 20 years from now (after the MIA is either running or failed), may bring a lot of money into CCSB funds.
By the way, in a few months, there will be a Petition circulated on Marco entitled "Residential-Public/Charter High School Buffer Zone Ordinance". Please be sure, whether you are for or against the school, to sign this Petition to get the issue in front of all the voters. This new Ordinance will provide for a 500' Buffer Zone between any Public or Charter High School and a residential (single or multi-family) lot.
