I am not looking for a fight, but the turtle argument is bothersome...I don't hear anyone remembering that before they showed up this Island for the most part was teaming with wildlife...which was plowed over, or chased away. This in the name of human progress. Same discussion for strip malls, hotels, community centers, other schools, churches, roads, sewage disposal, hospitals. Fortunately the animals are more adaptable, they can live almost anywhere. I was here 25 years ago and when most of us were carving out our homesteads we had little regard for inconveniemcing some turtles...kind of sounds a little sanctimonious to be used as an argument against a school.
Again...not looking for a debate...just wanted to put out a perspective that I had not seen blogged before.
