One of the sad consequences of age is loss of taste buds. This happens to everyone moving into the 50s.

Consequently, when some old person tells you they had a super meal at some joint, what they mean is they had a fun family time. The food was quite immaterial to their enjoyment.

Since Marco is overwhelmingly a realm of the aged,why should any of these bars or restaurants even try to serve tasty food.

Shrewder to invest their money into some kind of fairly distinguishable paraphernalia of ambiance.
