The city can save $4 million plus by jettisoning the MIPD and all concerned with it. The city is paying the CCSO as well, anyway, so the MIPD is redundant.
Not only are they redundant, but the county won't keep getting us sued, and these reports of various abuses by the police will stop as will their ever increasing thirst for new improved equipment at taxpayer expense. Of course, we'll save a lot of money too.
