Do you believe the statements in the above article stating that Jane saw the "need" of a "specialized" school here on Marco. What happened to the unbearable 14 mile trip our island's students had to take each morning and night? When she made her presentations last year that was right on the top of the list of reasons why we, on Marco, needed a high school. Now that that reason was blasted out of the water, we have a "passion for marine science" as a reason for all of this.
And how about the comment: "The community members felt it would be too difficult to implement these programs at Lely High School in East Naples, where students from the Island would normally attend high school. Watt felt that changing the curriculum at Lely would have been impossible." How much experience in education program developement did she have in order to proclaim such a broad statement. What effort did she or any of her followers attempt at this goal before they set out to slam the public education already provided at Lely?
