In most situations, the word "boy" is not a problem. Used to describe an African American man, however, the word is troublesome. That's because whites routinely described black men as boys to suggest that they were not on equal footing with them. Both during and after slavery, African Americans weren't viewed as full-fledged people but as mentally, physically and spiritually inferior beings to whites. Calling black men "boys" was one way to express the racist ideologies of yesteryear.

You know that to much Whiskey no tango or foxtrot. And you like to insult

GREAT PRESIDENT OBAMA.

You do that by purpose. You are nothing else than a small thinking yesterday Republican fanatic. Calling black men "boys" was one way to express the racist ideologies of yesteryear.

Klaus,
Say what you like. We all know Obama is your boy. Or put another way. He is your man. He is your team. I guess this can be chalked up to our difference in age. No I do not insult anyone here very often, if ever. I actually may be the best friend you have on this here comment page. Only because we can agree to disagree.

If I had a viable dog in this fight and it was a male. That would be my boy, regardless of race. If female, my girl. Unfortunately I have no dog in this fight. Romney is not "my boy". Nor is Obama. I'll wait until 2016. I will have a team to vote for by then.
