It looks to me like Romney paid almost 19 times more in taxes than Obama. His rate is not the story. His rate would have been double had it not been for his generous contributions to qualified charities. Charities reduce the burden on the available taxes and the nice thing about them is YOU get to decide where the money goes and where it will go the furthest and do the most good...unlike the black hole of our federal government where much of the money goes to people sitting around trying to figure out ways to get rid of it and justify more. Even the most ardent liberal knows a very high percentage of our taxes is wasted or used for things that many would not approve if they had control. You can bet that 10% of Romney's income went to the church...Mormon's tithe. That still leaves 2.7 million donated to other legitimate charities and those places need only known by the people that recieve the money, the people that give the money and the IRS who's job it is to check to make sure the charities are legit...no one else's business.

Cap.

The rate he paid was based upon investment income which has a maximum of 16%. He would not have paid that much more because of the investment deduction. In fact it would have only be 1.9% more. The deductions of 30% was far in excess that he would have need to lower his tax rate 1.9%. It was extremely generous of him to give the 30% to charities. To think how many mouths that fed, or clothing or housing that provided for those in need.

How could the Libercrats fault him for that? The should be going after Biden for his measly less than 2% given to charity.
