I believe you again missed the point many citizens were raising. The point was NOT Mr. Magel's right to freely endorse or speak out.
The point was: Mr. Magel has made claims that he informs folks with facts and figures, as Chairman. Perhaps, as citizen, he can divorce himself from such claims and send emails to the condominium residents and ICC members that a given slate of candidates would raise reuse water rates if elected. Interestingly, I cannot find any fact or figure as basis, in any statement, campaign material, or public comment made by Mr. Petricca, Mr. Honecker and Mr. Sacher in seeking a seat on council,
We all a right to say whatever we wish, but credibility matters, and based on the scenarios Mr. Magel has created, I say he is exposing his spiteful nature. Quite a character flaw, for "an outstanding member of our community"..... Or as Mr. Recker, claimed in an op/ed crying "fire in a theater".
Again, we are not concerned about ones right to speak, but the credibility of his message. So Mr. Magel may say anything he wishes as well as to whom, but his self-anointed status as arbiter of facts and figures is waning, as a citizen.
I predict, this will spill over into his positition as Chairman, as he replaces facts and figures with scenes of fear in the future.
Mr. Magel will continue his correspondence, it will serve to enlighten a targeted audience with fear. And the smartest folks in the room will look around and say, I saw this before on a larger screen with a different face and name. Does Obama come to mind? If the facts are not available to support a position then simply spew fear.
But there may be a kernel of truth if Mr. Magel could enlighten us with the actual cost of service for reuse water? We only want the facts and figures, as you have made claim so often in the past.
Again, please advise, where I can find the actual data and computation to ascertain the reuse water rate?
Unless, the fear you peddle is the truth you wish to tar and feather a slate that has made no such claim in any campaign.
Forgive me if I cannot offer a positive portrait of Mr. Magel, considering his standards to find the truth and your standards as to what constitutes an "outstanding member of our community"
