Ray,

As someone who travels to NYC area often, I look forward to the TSA agents who protect the flying public.

Most of what TSA agents are paid is thru airline ticket sales, not thru federal taxes.

Your correct every NYC public school has armed protection. However New York City also has a 6.3% city tax. That tax is used for many city projects. One of those is armed protection in schools for children in grades K-12.

The suggestion above......"So let’s use Marco Island as an example".

"We have somewhere near 45 +/- policemen, plus community service personal, fireman, and I‘m sure many who would volunteer".

"Under the right management, our children can be well protected during their school hours at little or no cost, and we could become a model for the rest of our Country"

Yesterday I call a friend who is a retired NYPD police officer to wish him a Merry Christmas.

I ran that idea past him for his opinion. He told me "only a fool woulds strap on the vest and pack a 45 for nothing". This is not like being a volunteer for beach clean up.

No these public servants need to be paid thru taxes. There are to many personal liability risks doing that type of work.

Just one battle with a lawyer would wipe out any well meaning volunteer.
