MICA may be a dinosaur, but even dinosaurs served a purpose, were part of the earth's circle of life. Right now MICA serves a purpose, there are no visible "extinction" events looming.
If anything, shouldn't we want growth on Marco Island to be slow and controlled?
I personally think the putt putt golf course would be a plus for residents, their families and guests, and yes even the "tourists". But, snubbing or trying an end run on MICA isn't appropriate. Hopefully the issue can be sorted out and that both sides don't "dig in" and waste time and $$ needlessly.
Sorry Jim, the tar pits for MICA are premature.
