</title><link>http://www.marconews.com/news/2010/jun/08/share-glass-wine-and-beautiful-sunset-views-glory-/?partner=RSS</link><description>New friends, new flavors, and a new venue make this gala one of Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce’s nicest events of the year.
The Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Glory of the Grape wine tasting event at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at CJ’s On The Bay at the Esplanade.
Tickets, $50 per person, includes an evening of wine tasting, with heavy hors d’oeuvres to complement each wine, followed by a live auction.
Wine tastings are events designed to give enthusiasts the opportunity to sample a range of wines. They are popular because they overcome the limitations of trying new wines at home, one bottle at a time, without the knowledge and expertise of others. At wine tastings, you can learn from others who share your interest in wines, some of whom may have more experience than you, and can help you train your palate.

“I thought the idea for Brews On The Bay sounded interesting,” said Uschi Seyler of Marco Island. “Being from Germany, which is known for great beer and food, I was looking forward to tonight, and I am very, very impressed.”
Benjamin Papendieck, sous chef at CJ’s On The Bay, came to Marco Island from Milwaukee. “Beer and food pairings are almost a lifestyle for many chefs in Milwaukee,” said Papendieck.
“It all came from one conversation, and evolved into what it has become right here, right now,” he said. “I’ve never done anything quite like this before.”
