Aaron attended the University of North Carolina where he averaged one changed major every year (theater, editorial journalism, photojournalism). He graduated with honors, a double major in communication studies and English literature.

After a stint testing mobile phone games at a tech company, bartending at P.F. Chang's, and freelancing for years, Aaron found himself living in Southwest Florida and working as a staff member on The Banner editorial team in May 2008.

In March 2010, Aaron became a full-time staff writer at the Daily News, where he focuses on emergency services in Collier and Lee County.

Cursed with that dreaded seven-letter "e" word (empathy), Aaron's true satisfaction comes when he can help tell the compelling stories of everyday people living in the community through words and photos.

He is also the proud daddy of two overweight kitties.

Hobbies: movies (avid Netflix watcher), Tar Heel basketball, traveling (when affordable), karaoke.

Favorite Web sites: www.imdb.com, www.tarheelblue.com and Washington Post's Camera-Works
.
