He has won 16 state press awards during his tenure, including first places for feature photography, criticism (movie) writing, feature story writing, business writing, humorous column writing and serious column writing. He is married with one daughter and lives on one of the very few hills on Marco (and indeed in Southwest Florida). He likes waveski (kayak) surfing, racquetball and golf ... and cooking
