What began in 1989 as request from an elected official, who happened to own a weekly newspaper, has continued to his current column, "On the Mark," printed in all three editions of the Collier Citizen.</p> <p>His purpose for writing has not changed -- to provide stimulus in hopes that readers will not only become more informed, but more involved and reactive to what is going on around them.</p> <p>Mark’s activities with local government provide fresh insight into the processes that continually change the environment around us.
