Florida (5-2-2) twice squandered a two-goal lead to the host Long Beach Ice Dogs and lost 6-4 one night after the Everblades pulled out a 5-4 overtime victory.
The Everblades are off today as they head south to San Diego, where they will take on the San Diego Gulls in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday before closing out the road trip in Bakersfield on Sunday afternoon.
John McNabb scored the game-winner midway into the third period and added an empty-netter in the closing seconds for the Ice Dogs (3-4-1).
The loss spoiled another solid night by Everblades forward Keith Anderson, who scored two goals to reclaim the ECHL scoring lead.
Anderson, who was the runner-up for ECHL Player of the Month for October, scored in the first period to give Florida a 2-0 lead and then added another in the second period to extend the lead to 4-2.Matt Pagnutti and Gray Shaneberger also scored for Florida.
The Everblades opened their first ever West Coast trip in thrilling fashion Tuesday night, beating the Las Vegas Wranglers 5-4 in overtime at the Orleans Arena.
Florida forward Reggie Berg notched the game-winning goal in overtime to give Florida the victory. Berg intercepted a Wranglers pass and ripped a shot over the shoulder of Las Vegas netminder and former Everblade Marc Magliarditi to seal the deal for the Everblades.
The Everblades got on the board first Tuesday on the power play and scored the first two goals of the game at 6:46 and 8:07 of the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Defensemen Paul Esdale and Matt Pagnutti both fired identical point shots on net that found their way through the legs of Magliarditi.
