FSL: Miracle to keep manager, let hitting coach go

The Minnesota Twins know better than to mess with success. Wednesday afternoon the Twins announced that the entire Fort Myers Miracle coaching staff will return in 2004. Almost.

Jose Marzan will lead the Miracle for the fifth season in a row after leading the Miracle to the Florida State League playoffs last season.

Eric Rasmussen will be back for his sixth season as pitching coach. Larry Bennese will again be the team's trainer.

Only hitting coach Mike Tosar will not return. Tosar will be replaced by former major leaguer Floyd Rayford.

Rayford played third base and catcher for the Baltimore Orioles and the St. Louis Cardinals during a seven-year major league career. Rayford hit .224 with 38 home runs and 117 RBI in 390 games. Rayford hit .306 with 18 homers while with the Orioles in 1985.
