A former resident of Matawan, New Jersey, he had resided in Naples since 1977. He was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Madison, N.J., a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Ferraro) Cerciello.
Mr. Cerciello was a founding member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a church usher, a member of the Arimatheans and the Carmelites. He was also a member of the Operating Engineers Local 825, Springfield, N.J., a past president of the Retiree Club and the Polish American Club. In his youth he was a member of the CCC (Civil Conservation Corps) and had a love for art that was depicted in his works.
Survivors include his son, Anthony F. "Buddy" (Mary) Cerciello of East Brunswick, N.J.; a daughter, Marie (Sonny) Dvorak of Oldtown, Fla.; a brother, Frank (Mary) Cerciello of Franconia, N.H.; a sister, Taffy Anderson of Clinton, N.J.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Valerie M. Cerciello, April 26, 2003.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas J. Glackin, pastor, officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. John's Memorial Garden. A reception for family and friends will follow in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. No. Naples, FL 34110.
Walter Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
