ECH: Going Coastal

SAN DIEGO -- After the Blades twice battled back after trailing by two goals to earn a tie with the Gulls on Saturday night, it was off to what they call the Gaslamp District in San Diego.

The Gaslamp is a collection of restaurants and bars with live music where most people sit out on the sidewalk to eat (under a propane heater) and enjoy the brisk California night air.

There was no pregame skate, so the players had to work out the kinks in warm-ups. We made the four-hour trek to Bakersfield, which is north of Los Angeles, for the 8 p.m. game today.

Dan Guenther is the radio play-by-play voice of the Florida Everblades. On the team's current West Coast trip he will be providing daily observations. The remaining Everblades games on the trip can be heard on SportsRadio 770-AM (WWCN).
