Local Bowling: Ruble bowls 800 series

Rick Ruble struck gold last week in the Beacon Bowl Mixed Classic.

The 43-year-old bowler not only rolled his second perfect game, he compiled his first 800 series, with games of 258, 300 and 267 for an 825 set.

Ruble, who moved to Naples six years ago from Toledo, Ohio, bowls in two leagues and carries a 208 composite average.

The hits keep on coming for John Hough.

Hough, who plans to join the Professional Bowlers Association tour at the end of the year, shot his 36th perfect game recently in the Rock Freeland Senior Classic at Beacon Bowl. He finished with a 715 series, with games of 193, 222 and 300.

Hough, 40, bowls in three leagues and carries averages of 240, 234 and 232.
