The Community School boys soccer team beat Bradenton Christian 2-1 on Tuesday in the Region 2 fall soccer quarterfinals.
The Seahawks next play Lakeland Christian in Lakeland on Friday in the regional semis. Lakeland Christian beat St. Petersburg-Canterbury 8-0 on Tuesday.
This was the second straight season Community School began regional tournament play with a win over BCS. The Seahawks won 3-1 last year.
Eric Poeltl scored both goals for Community School. Casey Berry recorded an assist.
Poeltl scored first for Community School, then Bradenton Christian tied the game right before halftime. Poeltl broke that tie in the game's 70th minute.
"It's a celebration," Community School coach Thomas Kloss said. "It's an overwhelming victory. There are so many injured people, we have only 11 players. I have to give all the credit to the players tonight. They didn't just play 100 percent. They played 110 percent to win tonight."
"After two years I see the attitude, discipline and respect in the ability to win every game," he added, "and I'm absolutely proud of this."
