The first robbery occurred between 11 and 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, while Ramero Deleon Vasquez, 21, of 26530 Cape Verde Lane, was walking home from a store on Old 41 Road near a park when five males jumped him, Sheriff's Deputy Larry King said. One suspect was armed but King did not disclose the weapon.
The suspect demanded money, Vasquez said, and they beat him in the head and he was taken to Southwest Regional Hospital on Nov. 9 with swelling to the head and for other injuries, King said.
The second reported robbery was at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, when Michael J. Conway, 49, of 27500 Oregon St., was on Bonita Beach Road riding his bike home from work when a dark vehicle with a hatchback pulled up. Two males demanded money and hit him in the nose and head with a blunt object, King said. They stole his wallet and fled. Conway was taken to North Collier Hospital for injuries to his nose, head and back.
The third crime occurred about 8 p.m. on Tuesday while Jorge Cuevas Diego, 25, of 10110 Carolina St., was riding his bike home from work. A dark vehicle hit his bicycle on Kentucky Street and, while lying on the ground, he was kicked and punched by two males. They fled when neighbors came outside because of the commotion, King said. Nothing was reported stolen.
The fourth robbery occurred at 4 a.m. Wednesday while Dennis Hale, 53, of an unlisted address, was walking between Old 41 Road and the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track when three men got out of a car and hit him in the forehead with a blunt object, King said. His wallet was stolen and Hale was taken to North Collier Hospital for injuries, King said.
Between 5 and 5:15 a.m. on the same day, Manuel Cisnero Ramos, 71, of an unknown address in Bonita Springs, was walking on Dean Street near Matheson Avenue when a black car stopped about 20 feet in front of him, King said. Two people grabbed him and a third man took his wallet from his pocket. He was not reported injured, King said.
The sixth robbery occurred between 5:30 and 6 a.m., also on Wednesday, while John Misch, 61, of Mentor, Ohio, was walking through Sunshine Plaza in Bonita Springs on his way back to the Hampton Inn, King said. One man put Misch in a headlock and another man demanded his wallet. A third man hit Misch and knocked him to the ground. They threatened his life and stole his wallet, King said.
All of the suspects are described as white males between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, driving an older model black sedan with a hatchback.
