Memorial service for found boater canceled

A memorial service that was planned for today for one of three missing Naples boaters has been canceled; no date has been announced for a rescheduled event.

The memorial for Gary Lisk, 61, had been planned by Rescue Three, a local group which has conducted an extensive private search for Lisk and two others after they did not return Oct. 18 from a fishing trip. Lisk's body was recovered after his boat, called "What's Left," washed ashore Nov. 3 at Cape Canaveral.

Still missing are Neil Eddleman, 47, and his son, Neil Alan Eddleman, 13.

The memorial was canceled after a dispute developed with Lisk family members.

A separate memorial service organized by the Lisk family is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Rd.

Saturday's memorial is open to the public.

At a later time, the family will scatter Lisk's ashes at sea.

"The scattering of the ashes will be a private affair for the family only," said family spokesman Wes DeMott.
