O'Leary had played in 12 of Florida's 14 games so far, tallying two assists and compiling 37 penalty minutes -- most of those in the season opener at Augusta.
Last week's signing of forward Jay Legault and the likelihood of center Reggie Berg coming off the seven-day injured reserve (concussion) necessitated the move.
"Reggie's coming back into the lineup, he skated today and feels good and looks like he'll be ready for the weekend," Everblades head coach Gerry Fleming said.
"Jamie's a professional and he handled it like a professional. He was great for us. He did everything we asked him to. Due to the fact we couldn't play him with our top six forwards, that made him expendable."
Fleming said Dayton had placed a phone call to Everblades team president/general manager Craig Brush inquiring about O'Leary because they thought he could help their team.
As far as what Florida (8-3-3) hopes to get in return, Fleming said he and Brush will assess their needs after this weekend's games with the Florence Pride (5-5-2).
