CBIA: The best of HomeFest

HomeFest showcased more than 40 new model homes from southern Lee and Collier counties. The two-week event, which was free to the general public, offered prospective home-buyers a chance to learn about the latest features in new home design. The focal point of this year's HomeFest was The St. Thomas IV in Longshore Lake, a four-bedroom, three-bath home with 3,300 air-conditioned square feet and a total of 4,644 square feet. It was built by Longo Construction & Development.

Some of the communities participating in HomeFest were Palmira Golf & Country Club, Lely Resort, Grandezza, Longshore Lake and Glen Eagle Golf & Country Club.

The winners were chosen by a panel of industry experts from throughout Florida. Judges concentrated on quality of workmanship, livability and function, special design features and the value of each model home.

In addition, CBIA named the student winners of the Draw Your Dream Home competition. They are: First Place: Sabina Bylyku, 8, Third Grade, Laurel Oak Elementary; Second Place: Ariel Vaill, 11, Fifth Grade, Tommie Barfield Elementary; Third Place: Cleo Candace Warner, 10, Fifth Grade, Community School of Naples; and Honorable Mention: Kira Wiedemann, 9, Fifth Grade, Tommie Barfield Elementary.
