Christmas Island Style kicks off at 6 p.m. today, Nov. 28, when Santa Claus arrives at the Shops of Marco, off South Barfield Drive, Marco Island. Mr. Claus also will attend the tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Town Center Mall on North Collier Boulevard. And the annual Marco Island Boat Parade will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and proceed down on the Marco River to Collier Bay and Smokehouse Bay.
The 19th annual Goodland Holiday Bazaar, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, and Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Goodland Community Center. An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with sausage, juice and coffee will be held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. both days.

The Marco Players will hold auditions for two plays at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, and Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Marco Players Theater. Needed for the Golden Years are two females and one male. The call is also out for three women and five men required to fill the cast for Love, Sex and the IRS. All are invited to audition for these two comedy plays.
The Marco Island Historical Society will sponsor a holiday luncheon and program starting with a cash bar at 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Hideaway Beach Club. Luncheon begins at noon. The program will spotlight Neil Bahr, Leonard Llewellyn, Marv Needles and Herb Savage, all connected with the Mackle brothers' Deltona Corporation in the 1960s. The first three gentlemen were in sales, and Herb Savage was the architect for the corporation. The luncheon will cost $20, and reservations must be made with Vice President Cindy Anderson at 393-0656 by Nov. 28.
A Ladies Holiday Lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Andre's on Marco Island. The cost is $21, inclusive. Reception at 11:30; lunch served at noon. Information: Elysee Marshall at 595-2072.
Christmas shell crafts, made by the Marco Island Shell Club, will be on sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Marco Island Winn-Dixie store and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 atat the Publix in the Shops of Marco.
Proceeds will be given as scholarships to two graduates from Lely High School and St.ohn Neumann High School.

The Marco Island Rotary Club, in conjunction with the Eradicate Amblyopia (lazy eye) Endowment Fund, will host an evening of dinner and dancing starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Marco Polo Restaurant. Donation is $75 per person and tickets can be reserved by calling 642-6657 or 580-7711.
Kids from kindergarten through fifth grade can learn about holidays around the world, make traditional crafts and sample customary foods during an afternoon program (3:30 to 4:30 p.m.) or an evening program (6:30 to 7:30 p.m.) Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Marco Island branch of the Collier County Public Library, 210 S. Heathwood Dr.
Marco Church of God presents Treasures of Christmas, joyful sounds of the season, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the church. Treasures of Christmas is a series of custom Christmas collections from artists Phil Barefoot and Lari Goss. For free tickets, call 394-3469.
The Jewish Congregation of Marco Island will open a third season of the Jewish Film Festival with Taking Sides, which will be shown at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21.
